AIR T, INC. Aviation and Aerospace Minority Scholarship

 

Are you interested in pursuing a career in aviation?

Do you want to become a pilot, an aircraft mechanic, or air traffic controller?

 

We want to help you realize your dream.

AIR T INC. wants to provide up to $5000 financial assistance to a minority student interested in pursuing a career in aviation and/or aerospace who meets the following requirements:

  1. Located in either Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC metropolitan areas, and
  2. A graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale, or
  3. Accepted into a Vocational Technology school and/or 2/4 Year Accredited College/University, or
  4. Currently enrolled student at a Vocational Technology and/or 2/4 Year Accredited College/University

Scholarship Application

Fill out the application below and provide the following documentation.

  1. A current transcript from your school (high school, college/university).
  2. An official copy of acceptance letter from an aviation and /or aerospace school or program.
  3. A letter of reference from one of the following: current teacher/professor, school counselor or community service or religious organization leader.
  4. A 500-word essay, double spaced, 12 pt font in Times New Roman answering one of the questions outlined below.

1. What were your major accomplishments during our high school career and why do you consider them accomplishments?
2. Consider your favorite books, movies, works of art, etc. Have any of these influenced your life in a meaningful way? Why are they your favorites?
3. Have you experienced a moment of epiphany, as if your eyes were opened to something you were previously blinded to? Explain.
4. What is your strongest, most unwavering personality trait? Do you maintain strong beliefs or adhere to a philosophy? How would your friends characterize you and what would they write about if they were writing a scholarship essay about you?
5. What are your dreams for the future? In twenty years, when you look back on your life what would it take for you to consider your life successful? How does this particular scholarship fit into your plans for the future?
